Every year more than 500,000 youth graduate from universities in Kenya. A survey carried out in 2018 shows that only 78,400 formal jobs were available. It is obvious then that the demand for jobs is more than the supply. That means for example that for every job created last year roughly 7 people are interested.
To compete and stand out as the best candidate, we designed a programme, “Finishing School” whose sole mandate is to take the graduates through a thorough and intensive training programme on the basic skills as well as engaging them through strategic and critical thinking. The strength of this programme is enhanced through partnership with various organisations & industries aimed at encouraging innovativeness and entrepreneurship.
Business leaders and emerging leaders in various disciplines and industries are a familiar part of our programme for leadership guidance, real case interactions and mentorship opportunities.
At the end of the 4 weeks’ intensive programme, we expected to have:
- Improved the presenting, communication and social preparedness of our candidates
- Improved and enhanced their networking skills and team work that could result into business ventures
- Developed a clear path of thinking strategically for action
- Enhanced their curiosity toward innovativeness and creativity
- Possible opportunities for internships and employment
